Decompression

The computer controlled decompression traction device is programmed to deliver a gentle stretching pull to allow unloading of tension in the spine and disc. This decompressive traction force is delivered via a comfortable harness system. Accuracy and comfort level is controlled throughout the session.

Decompression

What to Expect

The treatment time varies from 10-20 minutes per session. The DTS system applies a gentle oscillating force following a computer programmed protocol. This pull minimizes muscle guarding. Most patients report a subtle and gentle stretch to their spine. Decompression therapy is a non-invasive procedure, and patients report a sense of relief and deep relaxation.

Results

Previous research of decompression therapy found that the treatment provided relief in over 85% of patients with ruptured intervertebral discs and 75% relief with patients facing facet arthroses. Spinal Disc Decompression is designed to correct the causes of back pain and sciatica, and not just treat the symptoms.

Decompression care is a non-evasive and relaxing experience. 80-90% will find relief of their symptoms. Following the recommended acute stage protocol, when the disc pain has been alleviated, patients are given mobilization and strengthening exercises to avoid further injury. Please don’t hesitate to call the office if you have any further questions regarding the care you would be receiving.
